It's a movie on Netflix, and it's actually really good. It's a totally tongue-in-cheek teen movie. It's like Gay-Mean Girls (GBF = Gay Best Friend).

So Obviously I drew a fanart (I'm current;y a fandom of one, if anyone wants to join me!).

Hey! I posted awhile back that it's been nice drawing real people, because I can take photos with them and the drawing I drew, and I've updated that post to show the last one I got - it was way back in December, but I totally forgot to post it til now! It's with AJ Holmes, from Starkid Productions!

Title: Ye Merry Gentlemen
Characters: Remus/Sirius
Rating: G
Media used: Progresso woodless graphite pencil 4B-8B grade, Faber Castell green CASTELL 9000 6B grade & Derwent charcoal (dark)
Contains: *N/A*
Notes/comments: I've made this for pavlablack's rs_small_gifts fic, "Comfort & Joy", which is a lovely non-magic AU. You just gotta read it! They're meant to be older than how I usually draw them – the request was to draw them like "Same, But Different", however, that one is scruffy because of the context of Sirius having just escaped Azkaban. So, they're a bit cleaner shaven in this one. :D

As you guys may have seen, I've been really really obsessed with the new musical, "The Book of Mormon" and did two fanarts of two of the three main characters - as portrayed by the actors playing them in the National Tour. WELL, I tweeted them the pictures, and they really liked them, so I decided, why not give them the drawings at the stage door when they visit San Francisco?? Well, I've now given them both their drawings, and both of the actors insisted on a photo with me and the drawing, and it's just occurred to me how cool it is for me to have - photos with the drawings I made of the people, also in the photo? COOL.

Aww, I'm so sad, tonight was the closing night of "Bah Humbug!" the musical! Here's a video of my song & dance! I'm the Spirit of Christmas Present, with a big green bow on my head, lol. Hope you like it - I'm really quite proud of it! :D

Merry Christmas!!

Now's the time for singing and for dancing - laughing all the while as you play..."

So, you guys, BTW, I've just finished opening weekend of my first ever musical!! It's A Christmas Carol and I play The Spirit of Christmas Present (That's "present" as in "now", not "present" as in "gift")! I'm having a blast, and while it may be a shitty community theatre production, I don't think I'll ever have a more perfect role in my life. So, I'm making sure to savour the next 2 weeks. I say it's perfect because 1. My costume consists of glitter shoes, a pink sequin vest & a gift wrap bow - all of which were already mine. 2. I sing the only happy, upbeat song in the show, it's called, "Life Was Meant to Live" - and it has a dance too! 3. I get to make snarky, sarcastic comments to Scrooge's asshole-ishness, etc etc etc.

I feel like this WHOLE thing was made worth it just today alone, because after the show, we were all still in costume, greeting people outside, and this sweet little girl with pink glitter shoes came up and wanted her picture taken with me. With me! :DDD I told her that I loved her shoes.

:DDD

Hey guys! So, as you may have seen, I'm really into Newsies (the 1992 movie musical, lol) lately, and I spent today listening to the song "Seize the Day" over and over and painting illustrations of the words! I first wanted to do it with the first chorus, and then noticed it was just like the Dumbledore quote I did before! I'm really quite proud of these, and I feel filled with purpose when I read the last one in particular. Like, ready to protest or something. :D

Here's a YouTube of the song with lyrics...Collapse )

I've been plagued with anonymous spam comments lately on all three of my livejournal accounts. Has this been happening to anyone else?

I've changed the options to comment on my journals to friends-only, just because once I turned off anonymous comments, I got registered users who were spamming instead. I reported them, but I hate getting the notification emails for all this shit!

Lame.

Title: Elder Cunningham
Rating: G
Media used: Progresso woodless graphite pencil 4B-8B grade, Faber Castell green CASTELL 9000 6B grade & Derwent charcoal (dark & white)
Contains: N/A
Notes/comments: So, I've been really into everything to do with the musical "The Book of Mormon" for the past 3 months or so, and back in June, I finally broke down and did a drawing. This is Jared Gertner as Elder Cunningham (one of 2 main characters) - he's the Cunningham who will be in the San Francisco tour production, so I'll get to see him. He's not the original Cunningham, but I think he's the best, and brought new light to the character that I hadn't thought of, and that – to me – says something about an actor's ability. :D [The image is inspired by the 2012 Tony Performance of "Hello!", as well as a photo from Twitter.] If you don't know the show, these are vaguely interesting because they're more caricature-like than my usual stuff.

I'm gonna Man Up all over myself...Collapse )

Title: Nabulungi Hatimbi
Rating: G
Media used: Progresso woodless graphite pencil 4B-8B grade, Faber Castell green CASTELL 9000 6B grade & Derwent charcoal (dark & white)
Contains: N/A
Notes/comments: I've fallen prey to the wonderfulness of the musical "The Book of Mormon" by Matt Stone, Trey Parker & Bobby Lopez. This is my second fanart (I finished it last night) and it's of Samantha Marie Ware as Nabulungi (The love interest of Elder Cunningham - and the only character from the show that won the original actress a Tony) - this is the Nabulungi who's in the tour production, and I get to see her in San Francisco! She's not the original Nabulungi, but I think she's just as good! [The drawing is based off of this image posted on tumblr that I can't find the original of: HERE.]

A land where evil doesn't exist: Sal Tlay Ka Siti...Collapse )

P.S. Here are the characters' signature songs from the show: "Man Up" - Elder Cunningham. "Sal Tlay Ka Siti (lol, pronounced Salt Lake City)" - Nabulungi. And their duet: "Baptize Me".

I can change the colour/print of any part of it, really. Or make one just like this, or you can have this one. lol. It's hand stitched with love and care from my gay pride rainbow designed fabric.

So, I made a new twitter a few weeks ago to satisfy my need to just post random thoughts about gayness, so you can find me @gay_mazing if you want. And today I opened up an etsy shop cuz I wanted to. I'm not a hipster–I'm too pop to be hip–I just figured someone might want to buy my arts & crafts. Could I ask y'all a favour and ask you to just look at THE ONE product I have up and tell me if you think it's over/underpriced, and if you think it's comprehensive?

That's pretty GAY-MAZING!

Please? :D

Oh yeah! I almost forgot, the reason I came over here was to vent about this:

Fuckers!! I wasn't gonna subscribe to anything, because I hate email newsletters, but FUCK them, I'm gonna get Etsy "Dudes-just-for-guys" if I want! Ugh. I have half a mind to complain.

Hey!! So, as you all may remember, I've been a customising fiend. JAMIE THE CUSTOMISABLE! I had some awesome custom fabric printed from the rainbow I made for my header:

Mainly to make a huge patch for my awesome denim jacket:

And then I made a tag for my purse, and now I've made a "PRIDE" patch for my backpack strap, and a pocket decoration!!!

And finally, this pamphlet was left on my car this morning. I had my Gay Pride rainbow magnet bumper sticker on it, as well as my HRC Equal Sign sticker, and I check every other car on my street, and I was the only one that got one. Reason #9 why Jesus came to die was apparently "to give Marriage its deepest meaning" etc. etc. Between Husband & Wife, blah blah blah.

I love comments, and don't pay any mind any overt Narcissism – I've been actively counteracting that with a good, daily dose of self-loathing.

Notes/comments: So, whilst surfing vintage lesbian photography, I found this lovely image, and I had to draw it. Title: Possibly Imagine
Characters: Draco Malfoy
Rating: PG
Media used: Progresso woodless graphite pencil 4B-8B grade, Faber Castell green CASTELL 9000 6B grade & Derwent charcoal (dark)
Contains: *Angst and spoiler-y excerpt from Half-Blood Prince.*
Notes/comments: So, I've always felt that Harry and Draco were sort of an experiment on nurture vs nature, as if I feel like the by being exact opposites, they were also the most similar two characters. Draco was raised by Pureblood arseholes, and were borderline evil, but they loved him And I reckon they played with him and stimulated his mind - just for the wrong side. Harry was unloved, treated like rubbish, and grew to know how it feels to be treated like a non-being. Then, furthermore, Draco went to Slytherin and continued down that path, having no reason not to, and thrived. Harry went off to Gryffindor, and thrived as well. We all know the Malfoy's never really had it in them to be the real DeathEaters they were asked to be, because at the bitter end, what mattered was that her son was safe. I'm not a Harry/Draco shipper, but I totally get the reasoning and appeal.

Now, next part of the the notes: I have been re-watching Mad Men, and I have been dying to show you how much the character Peter Campbell is the 1960s ad-men version of Draco - in his petulance, his impatience, his various agreements to sign binding contracts/having babies without being sure he wants to or can. So, I finally have a clear Draco in my head, and I've taken liberties with the actor from Mad Men, and made him Draco Malfoy, confronting a weakened Dumbledore, intent to kill. (though, I do also like to look at it as his general overwhelmed-ness of the book, with the cabinet. Perhaps staring at nothing thinking about hoe terrified he is that he won't follow through on the task from Voldemort.

We all like appreciation for our own hard work, of course… Collapse )

What do you guys think? I'm always found his human aspect - and in his eyes, his weakness - very fascinating. And I'm new to Draco fanart - any place that I could post this?

Love, Jamie xx
